Who:  Great Planes Aviation was started by Nick Fancher

What:  Currently providing a training facilities, aircraft and instructors for student pilots

When:  Most days and sometimes at night.

Where:  Rochester IAP Airport.  7300 Brataas Drive SW, 2nd floor
Take the County Rd 16 SW exit off Highway 63 to the west.  Take the "General Aviation" turn-in that is just west of the airline terminal turn-in.  Great Planes Aviation is the first building as you drive toward Signature Flight Support.  It is sometimes referred to as the "Old Weather Building".  The door is on the SE side of the building. 

Cost for dual is $50/hr SEL

Cost for airplanes (includes fuel) $135/hr

Airplanes:

  • 2000 Archer III, PA28-181
    • 2 x G430 WAAS
    • ADS-B compliant
    • S-Tec 55 autopilot
  • Cessna 172
    • Installing new GNS750
    • Engine being overhauled (180 hp)
